Jojoba (pronounced ho-ho-ba) is in fact not an oil, it is a wax. It became famous in the 1970s when whaling was banned and manufacturers saw that jojoba oil had the same properties as the oil from the sperm whale. It is incredibly nourishing contains high levels of vitamin E so its no wonder its used extensively in skin care.
